July 17-20 St. Petersburg successfully held the 21st International Specialised Exhibition Energetika & Elektrotechnika 2014. The show hosted more than 300 leading energy companies from 15 countries (Belarus, Germany, Italy, China, Poland, Serbia, the USA, Taiwan, Turkey, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Estonia). Manufacturers and suppliers of energy, electrical and lighting equipment showcased a wide variety of cable and wiring products, lighting and electrical elements, energy saving solutions, control and measuring equipment, industrial and special automation systems.
The following large foreign companies from Germany, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, France and Czech Republic participated in the show for the first time: Arken Jenerator, OB Profils, Feman, LAE S.r.l., E.T.A S.p.a., ZEZ Silko, Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co, SN PROMET.
The high level of organisation and popularity of the event among all economic sectors are successfully proved by participation of such companies as Bresler, SET Transformer Substations Factory, Sevkabel, Plant of Electrotechnical Equipment (ZETO), Leningrad Electromechanical Factory, PIK-Energo, Podolskkabel, Rospol-Electro, Sverdlovsk Works of Current Transformers, Tyco Electronics Rus, Phoenix Contact Rus, Hakel Ros, Eltekhnika, Energomera Electrotechnical Factories, Energomash (Yekaterinburg) – Uralelectrotyazhmash, Electronmash, Electroshield – TM Samara, Ensto Rus and many other.
145 business meetings were held in the framework of Matchmaking Centre organised at the venue. Both Russian and foreign companies were actively involved in the work of Matchmaking, such as Eesti Energia AS, Jean Muller GmbH, ALUR Cable Factory, Ural Electromechanical Plant.
The exhibition was held concurrently with the Russian International Energy Forum. This year the Forum programme highlighted the most significant industry-related issues, such as fund raising in power industry, rate regulation, energy efficiency and power saving, improvement of generating capacity, human resourcing in the industry, as well as development challenges of regional power industry, housing and municipal services. More than 120 experts from 5 countries presented their speeches within the business programme, and among them federal and regional legislative authorities of Russia and chief executives of top Russian energy companies Gazprom Energoholding, TGC-1, OGK-2, MOSENERGO, Rosenergoatom, Fortum. The Secretary General of China Electricity Council Wang Zhixuan gave a speech at this Forum for the first time.
Delegates, exhibitors and attendees gathered at the venue to meet colleagues, share news, discuss achievements and critical industry-related issues during confrerences, workshops, presentations and roundtables.
According to the survey by the organisers of the show, the exhibition turned out to be efficient; exhibitors emphasised the increased number of target audience, as well as commercial success of the event.
